Webinar - Equality & Diversity for Lawyers

The active encouragement of Equality and Diversity is taken extremely seriously by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.  The topic will assume even greater importance as the SRA Code of Conduct comes into force, when it is elevated to the status of a 'Principle'.

This helpful webinar is recommended for fee earners and support staff, and explains the importance of meeting both professional and statutory obligations in respect of Equality and Diversity.  It covers relations between partners, staff, third parties and clients.  The webinar also addresses the sensitive issue of addressing those of different backgrounds so as to ensure effective communication and the delivery of a high standard of service.

Key areas of coverage include:

  • The Code of Conduct - the need for policy that is applied throughout the practice
  • Some client service issues - do they breach the Code?
  • Avoiding discriminatory language and attitudes - some rules to avoid giving offence
  • Making equality a reality
